FIRST LEGO League Challenge

Join Bytes and Bots for a chance to be part of a winning team! Our participation in the First Lego League (FLL) competition has been a huge success, with our team winning the qualifier, regional, and advancing to the championship!

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be part of a championship team. Sign up your child, aged 9-16, for FLL through Bytes and Bots, and let them experience the excitement and challenge of the FLL competition.

Sign-ups for the upcoming season will begin on May 15th, 2023. Our program includes two practice months (June – July) where students will work with experienced mentors to learn about the FLL competition and work on prior year versions of the challenge. Practices typically occur on Saturdays or Sundays, depending on each student’s schedule, and are usually 4 hours long.

The Bytes and Bots lab is open Monday – Sunday from 12pm – 8pm all days (closed on major holidays). It is recommended for teams to meet once per week, and as the competition nears, meeting twice per week is recommended.

The FLL competition itself runs from August through December, during which time students will continue to work with mentors to design, build, and program LEGO robots to complete specific missions, as well as conduct research on a real-world problem related to the competition theme.

By joining Bytes and Bots, your child will have the opportunity to be part of a winning team and develop important skills in STEM, problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork.
