First Lego League (FLL)
FIRST LEGO League introduces science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to children ages 4-16* through fun, exciting hands-on learning. FIRST LEGO League participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together. In FIRST LEGO League, students engage in hands-on STEM experiences, building confidence, growing their knowledge and developing habits of learning. FIRST LEGO League’s three divisions inspire youth to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding and design skills through hands-on STEM learning and robotics.

Sign-ups for the upcoming season will begin on May 15th, 2023. Our program includes two practice months (June – July) where students will work with experienced mentors to learn about the FLL competition and work on prior year versions of the challenge. Practices typically occur on Saturdays or Sundays, depending on each student’s schedule, and are usually 4 hours long.
The Bytes and Bots lab is open Monday – Sunday from 12pm – 8pm all days (closed on major holidays). It is recommended for teams to meet once per week, and as the competition nears, meeting twice per week is recommended.
The FLL competition itself runs from August through December, during which time students will continue to work with mentors to design, build, and program LEGO robots to complete specific missions, as well as conduct research on a real-world problem related to the competition theme.
