Bytes and Bots presents an array of captivating after-school robotics and electronics classes at Arroyo Elementary! All classes run at the same time.

Program Dates: (10 weeks)

  • May: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

Wednesdays, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

 

Explore the fascinating details of each class:

Robotics 1: Sumo Battle and Attack and Defend

Location: Room 14

  • Sumo Battle: Students will use their creativity and knowledge of of robust structures toย  engineer a robot capable of enduring intense Sumo Battles.
  • Attack and Defend: Students will create a robot and use a remote control to control their robot. They will have to defend their targets from the other team.

Robotics 2: Robot Competition Challenge (Robotics 1 is not required)

Location: Front of Library

  • For the robotics lover, this course is a primer introducing them to the world of robotics competitions. Competitions are where all 4 STEM fields come together to innovate, problem-solve and develop their critical thinking skills by having hands-on real world challenges.For more info, the attached video summarizes the (FLL) First LEGO League experience:

 

Electronics: Light Show

Location: Library

  • Students will learn the basics of electronics and programming. They will program in a simple drag and drop programming language like Scratch.
  • Students will create projects with cardboard and other electronics like LEDs, buttons and servo motors. Students get to take home everything, including the Raspberry Pi Pico

 

Prerequisites: No prior robotics or programming experience is required for any of the classes. This course is open to students of all levels who have a curiosity for robotics or electronics and a willingness to learn.

Materials: All necessary materials, including EV3 Lego kits and Raspberry Pi kits, will be provided to the students during the course.
